The Latvian Prison Administration as a Project Promoter in the framework of the Programme LV08 “Reform of the Latvian Correctional Services and Police Detention Centers” of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism will implement the pre-defined project “Establishment of a new prison block in Olaine prison, including construction and training staff”.
The pre- defined project “Increasing the Application of Alternatives to Imprisonment (Including Possible Pilot Project on Electronic Surveillance)” is launched

The pre-defined project “Increasing the Application of Alternatives to Imprisonment (Including Possible Pilot Project on Electronic Surveillance)” developed in the frame of Programme LV08 “Reform of the Latvian Correctional Services and Police Detention Centers” of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism was launched on 3 June 2013.

The State Probation Service of Latvia as a Project Promoter in the framework of the Programme LV08 “Reform of the Latvian Correctional Services and Police Detention Centers” of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism will implement the pre-defined project “Increasing the application of alternatives to imprisonment (incl. possible pilot project on electronic surveillance)”.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding on the Implementation of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 between the Republic of Latvia and the Kingdom of Norway, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia as Programme Operator implements the programme LV08 “Reform of the Latvian Correctional Services and Police Detention Centres” within the priority sector Justice and Home Affairs.
