North America shows interest about work with sex offenders in Latvia print

The State Probation Service of Latvia presentation on development of the system for work with sex offenders ir Latvia was published in ATSA journal "the Forum"

Project manager Imants Jurevičius and Leading researcher Anvars Zavackis from State Probation Service of Latvia Project Nr.LV08/1 “Increasing the Application of Alternatives to Imprisonment (Including Possible Pilot Project on Electronic Surveillance)” carried out within Programme LV08 “Reform of the Latvian Correctional Services and Police Detention Centers” which is supervised by Ministry of Justice and funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism in the end of October 2013 attended ATSA (Association for Treatment of Sexual Abusers) annual conference in Chicago.

ATSA is a professional organization which consists of several thousand experts (mostly from North America) in work with sex offenders. ATSA annual conferences are attended by 1,5-2 thousands of participants from all around the world and they are the most important forum for professionals of the field.

In conference I.Jurevičius and A.Zavackis presented development of the system for work with sex offenders in Latvia. The presentation caused great interest of North American colleagues and is republished in ATSA journal „the Forum”:
